Set One
HoeJJa vs

sAviOr
Let us welcome our first star of the day. SaviOr, the legend, will have his first televised match for this season. Will it be an even match with his opponent HoeJJa? There is also the possibility that there will be an upset, as GOM is famous for upsets.
But wait... was it not sAviOr who wanted to destroy everything in 2009? What tournament would be better to start the destruction in 2009 than GOM? Let us see the true face of 'The Maestro'. Ma Jae Yoon!
HoeJJa’s aggressive play let him take control of the early and ride that advantage to victory.
Savior attempted early harassment which was ineffective, and there were no major battles until the mutalisks came into play.
Savior took an early gas which would give him an advantage in the later game, but HoeJJa pressed the rival Zerg and eventually took control of the skies with a critical scourge attack.
Savior GGed when the majority of his mutalisks were killed.
Savior took advantage of his opponent’s mistakes and stole away victory.
HoeJJa was set to win with an overpool against Savior’s fast expansion. HoeJJa was in a better position in the short run since he was able to build fast mutalisks.
Savior was able to land a game changing blow when HoeJJa moved too far out of his base and Savior’s speedlings were able to kill all but two of HoeJJa’s drones. Despite HoeJJa’s ability to build mutalisks faster, he was unable to really produce any as his economy was in shambles.
HoeJJa soon GGed as he was overwhelmed by Savior’s mutalisks.
HoeJJa pulled out an upset and defeated Savior with an excellent mass zerglings attack.
Savior was unable to discern exactly what HoeJJa was doing, and was unaware of the mass zerglings attack that was impending.
HoeJJa was able to snipe the spire, and seal a victory. Although the zerglings were deflected by Savior’s excellent defense, the oncoming wave of mutalisks forced Savior to GG.
HoeJJa moves on to the next round of tournament play.
Set Two
hydra vs

Chance
Another ZvZ and a good one at that. Hydra, an unknown player, will fight against Chance, aka Luxury. Is it even possible to take down this powerhouse? Yes it is. This is GOM. Everyone can take out everyone. Let us hope that sAviOr gave him some advice or that he came up with some crazy strategy.
Chance pulled out as the winner in this game after weather several heavy zerglings attacks.
Hydra attempted to break in Chance’s base, which left Hydra’s zerglings numbers in tattes. Chance was able to begin producing mutalisks which forced Hydra to build two spore colonies.
The spire at Chance’s base eventually fell to zerglings attack, but the numbers of mutalisks and zerglings in Hydra’s base was too much for the Zerg player to handle.
Chance kept the pressure up this game and took home a win for this set.
Chance had a huge first contact against Hydra, leaving him with a clear advantage he held for the rest of the game.
Hydra attempted to get out of his base, but constant pressure kept him on the defense. He eventually lost his pool to a mutalisk force, putting him even further behind.
Eventually Chance was able to overwhelm Hydra’s fast expansion location, forcing Hydra to GG.
Chance moves on to the next round of the tournament play with clever and aggressive play.
Set Three
Hul vs

Pretty
Hul, the underdog, against Pretty, the favorite. Some hope for an upset and some hope for Pretty to bring it home. No matter what will happen we will get some good games out of it – hopefully. Hul against Pretty — watch it!
Hul dominated Pretty with a clever rush to the rear of Pretty’s main.
The Zerg began mining out the rear of the Protoss main, allowing zerglings to stream past the fast expansion that was fully stocked with photon cannons.
Soon zerglings were wreaking havoc in Pretty’s base, forcing him to GG within a few seconds.
Pretty got revenge for last game by steamrolling his opponent in the mid game.
Hul attempted to break into the Protoss main early on, but was deflected and put way behind in the next phase of gameplay.
Pretty lost two shuttles with failed harassment attempts, but was able to stop a contain oriented hatchery from becoming operational.
Pretty followed up with a push that forced the Zerg to GG.
Hul succeeded in pulling out a huge upset with incredible play this game.
Both players opened with standard fast expansions, and the game was quiet until corsairs began sniping a few overlords.
Hul attempted a light contain that failed almost immediately, and Pretty made a choice that put him behind for the rest of the game – a break into the main of the Zerg, attempting to steamroll Hul into submission.
The attack was a failure and Pretty went on the defensive while Hul built expansion after expansion. Pretty did somewhat slow down the Zerg economy by taking out one expansion, but it was a short-lived victory.
Waves of hydralisks began to counter one of Pretty’s few expansions, forcing the Protoss army to be cut off in the middle of the map. Soon Pretty GGed as more and more hydralisks began pouring into his base.
Hul goes on to the next round of tournament play in a huge upset.
Set Four
skyhigh vs

GGplay
This could be a bad day for GGplay. No offense to the player but he is up against skyhigh. Naturally he can take him down in an upset, but skyhigh took out Jaedong in the WinnersLeague and made an reverse all-kill. There is almost nothing more awesome than that. Let us see how GGplay can play against this upcoming monster.
Skyhigh played an incredible game that ended in a one-sided conflict.
The Terran kept the pressure up on the Zerg with constant harassment from vultures, killing drones and slowing down expansions.
There also was a few overlord snipes and a triple pronged harassment that took out scores of GGPlay’s drones.
After GGPlay was sufficiently softened up, Skyhigh made his push to the Zerg main, which triggered GGPlay to GG.
GGPlay attempted a very unorthodox double den build in an effort to hydra rush Skyhigh.
Skyhigh was caught off guard for the uncommon attack, and soon was fighting for his expansion and the game.
The Terran was able to just barely hold off the attack with two siege tanks and walling in his expansion.
GGPlay’s all in maneuver had failed and he was forced to GG.
Skyhigh moved on to the next round of tournament play in a very one sided set.
Commentary by the news crew:
“There has never been such a good and exciting map like 'A Garden of God'.”
