Set One
Index vs

skyhigh
Index beat firebathero to get where he is now. Despite that being an upset we all know that FBH is slumping at the moment. Skyhigh on the other hand is not slumping and is a beast. Is it even possible for Index to take one game from him? Yes, it is. In GOM everything is possible. If Index manages to beat skyhigh it will be another upset but since his play seems to be good it is possible. Watch as these two players clash. 'The UnderdodToss' vs 'the Reverse all-killer'!
Skyhigh came out on top despite suffering early damage from an all in build from Index.
Index opened with a double gateway proxy that looked to counter skyhigh’s fast command center build. Dark templars soon were dealing significant damage to both the front of the Terran base and also the Terran’s back expansion.
The Terran player defended well, following up with a series of excellent harassments which kept the Protoss in check despite having the clear advantage.
Enough damage was eventually dealt so that skyhigh’s big push would trigger GG. Index chose to transition to carriers at a very inopportune time, leaving his already weakened army even more vulnerable.
Skyhigh dominated this game in a very straightforward match.
Index opted for a three gateway build, which was spotted by skyhigh who sent a scouting marine past the zealot blocking the ramp.
Despite having his tech and unconventional build spotted, Index committed to building dark templars which were decimated upon entry of skyhigh’s main.
Index GGed and skyhigh moves on to the round of 16.
Set Two
MVP vs

Shine
Both of these Terrans beat a good Protoss player to get here. MVP however had to take down stork which was the more difficult task. Now it is tanks against tanks. Can MVP pull out another miracle or did Shine get some helpful tips from Flash? We will see!
MVP turned around a potential loss into a complete victory with stunning dropship play.
Shine attempted to break in with an early marine/vulture rush, but it was spotted and MVP stopped the attack before it started by building a bunker.
Shine looked to have the advantage for the next few minutes, until MVP began a series of drops that shattered his opponent.
Drops to the expansion, main, and center of the map eventually left Shine totally broken. A final combination push/drop to the center of the map dealt the final blow, causing Shine to GG.
Shine came out ahead in this slow but steady Terran mirror match.
Two starport play really helped Shine pull ahead, allowing him to sit comfortably after a drop supported by wraiths helped to take out a critical expansion of MVP. With one additional expansion, Shine was in excellent position.
MVP was eventually whittled down and mined out, though he did attempt a final drop to take out one of MVP’s expansions. The counter from Shine forced MVP to GG.
MVP earned himself a ticket to the round of 16 with incredible defense and dropship plays.
Shine attempted for the majority of the game to break a critical expansion of MVP’s, but was deflected each time by MVP’s superior defense and use of dropships. The drophips allowed MVP to deal damaging drops to Shine along with keeping troops mobile for defense.
MVP controlled the map for the majority of the game as Shine’s attacks left him with a weak military. Faced with being mined out and unyielding harassment, Shine GGed and was eliminated in the round of 32.
Set Three
PrOtoss vs

Berserker
Stats/PrOtoss took down Hiya and will now face another Terran. Is this his match up where he is able to take everyone down or did he just had an upset and now his magic is gone? Iris/Berserker is no easy enemy. His style will surely be something new for Stats/PrOtoss. Let us watch the 'Sexy Terran' as he takes on a PrOtoss.
Berserker took out his opponent this game with a well-timed counter attack.
PrOtoss dealt early damage with some excellent dragoon micro, causing significant casualties to marine numbers.
The game entered an expansion heavy macro phase, until both armies skirmished against each other in the center of the map.
The Protoss opted for a recall which drew a large portion of his forces away from the center. This triggered Berserker to counter to the Protoss main, which was largely unguarded.
The recall turned out to be ineffective in the face of so many Terran units lurching towards the Protoss main. After an attempt to stop the Terran army, PrOtoss GGed.
Berserker secured a win with play that earned him his namesake, getting him into the round of 16.
PrOtoss opened with a two expansion build and this left him ripe for some of the excellent harassment implemented by Berserker.
Berserker consistently and successfully harassed multiple expansion locations, enabling him to initiate a strong contain on his opponent.
The Protoss was able to break out though the ensuing push was unable to land any significant hits to the ever expanding Terran army.
With the Protoss army almost broken Berserker pushed to the natural expansion of the Protoss main, causing his opponent to GG.
Set Four
Flash vs

Reach
The match of the day! Flash, the 'Ultimate Weapon' will face off against the 'Hero Protoss'. Yes, Flash versus Reach on the Averatec- Intel Classic Season 3. Tell your friends, your family and everybody you know! This will be epic. Can Flash nuke Reach away like the weapon he is or will Reach outplay him with some new awesome style? KTF vs ACE, TvP. Watch!
Chalk up another victory for Flash, who played an almost flawless game.
Flash’s incredible timing and impeccable defense prevented any real intelligence or harassment, keeping Reach in the dark and unable to do any real damage for the entire game.
Most of the game was spent with Flash turtling and going for his trademark macro build. When his army was maxed out he moved out and took out Reach’s army with a decisive attack.
Reach soon GGed to the relentless push of the Terran army.
Flash took home another win by countering a build designed to have an advantage against his own.
Reach opted for fast carriers, which is a good counter for the usual turtle centric build of Flash.
Flash eventually spotted the tech, forcing Reach to attack early before his interceptors were fully prepared. Reach was unable to breach into the Terran main, allowing Flash to build up his goliath numbers.
Eventually Flash launched a push which slowly but surely backed Reach into a corner. Carrier after carrier fell to the streams of goliaths, forcing Reach to GG.
Flash’s excellent play lands him in the round of 16.
Commentary by the news crew:
“Flash... can anyone stop him?”
“A Terran-Day.”
